Funeral services for Opal Anita Page, 89, will be held at Branon Funeral Home Chapel in Lamesa, Texas, on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Havir officiating.
Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Mrs. Page passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Mineola, Texas.
Opal Anita Page, daughter of Luther Edgar and Edna May (Holland) Page was born in Ochoa, New Mexico July 3, 1930. At the age of 2, the family moved to Lamesa. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1947. She married Virgil Page in January of 1950 and they started farming south of Lamesa. They soon moved to their home place west of town and continued to live there until 2017 when they moved to East Texas.
Opal shared her husband’s passion for farming and together they farmed in Lamesa for over 60 years. Mrs. Page loved farming, gardening, working in the yard, studying her Bible, being active in her church, and writing short stories.
She was totally devoted to her family. Opal will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a lady of conviction, loyalty and trustworthiness.
Opal Page was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Page; her parents; and her sister, Edna Mobley.
She is survived by her daughters Pamela Havir (Dave), and Carolyn Ellefson, her grandchildren, David Havir III (Diana), Jonathan Havir (Traci), Damien Sanchez (Michelle), April Sandoval (Joshua), Candice Owen (Matthew), and twins Cheyenne and Courtney Sanchez; her great-grandchildren Danae, Karina, Kyleigh, Alexander, Calvin, Noelle, Gabriella, Owen, Emmanuel, Rafael, Michael, Elijah, Hope, Russel, Rainan, and Kieran. She is also survived by two brothers; Weldon Page (Dorothy) and Roy Page (Nancy).
