Noemi Hernandez Alvarez

    Funeral services to celebrate the life of Noemi Hernandez Alvarez, age 71, of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the church of Templo Elim with Pastor Abel Hernandez officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. At the family’s request face masks, and social distancing are required at the funeral home, church, and cemetery. Due to area Covid-19 situation we continue with public safety.
    Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m., Inspirational Service on Wednesday, and visitation on Thursday, November 18, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
    Noemi passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Lubbock, TX. 
    She was born on January 1, 1949 in Lamesa, TX. Noemi married Guadalupe (Lupe) Alvarez on July 8, 1969 in Lamesa, TX.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Virginia Hernandez; her sister, Juanita Quintanilla; her brother, Juan (Bobby) Roberto Hernandez.
    Noemi was a lifelong member of her beloved church, Templo Elim. Kids were her passion. She helped everyone before helping herself. She was a great quilt designer and maker, she made quilts and blankets for many people. Noemi was God’s helper.
    Noemi is survived by her husband, Lupe Alvarez of Lamesa, TX.; her son, Isaac (Chucky) Alvarez, and daughter-in-law, Keren Alvarez of Midland, TX.; her daughter, Kimberlie Lugo and son-in-law, Joel Lugo of Lamesa, TX.; her brothers, Ramon Hernandez and sister-in-law, Beatrice Hernandez, and Ismael Hernandez and sister-in-law, Lucy Hernandez, all of Lamesa, TX.; her grandsons, Jared and Alexis Lugo of Lamesa, TX., Jacob Lugo and Valena of Midland, TX., Isaac Alvarez of Midland, TX.; her granddaughters, Jadee Salazar and Nathan Salazar of Lamesa, TX., and Lillian Alvarez of Midland, TX.; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
