Morris Gartman

    Funeral service for Morris Gartman, 76, of Lamesa will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Ben Phipps officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home. Viewing will begin Saturday at 9:00 a.m. to service time at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.
    Morris passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.  
    He was born July 14, 1945 in Lamesa to James Hillery and Zelphia Lavara (Phillips) Gartman. Morris served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a farmer most of his life and worked at Halliburton for a few years. Morris’s last job was at McDonalds, where he enjoyed coffee time with his friends. His best moments were his “Granddaddy” playtime and lunch on Sunday afternoons with his grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
    He is survived by his son, Justin Gartman and wife, Kelcie of Lubbock, Texas; and grandchildren, Kayson James, Charlie Mikel and Cora June. 
    He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald Gartman.
