Marina Garcia

    A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Marina Garcia, age 72, of Lamesa, TX., at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with celebrate Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing and visitation will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Wednesday April 19, 2023, and Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. 
    On Thursday evening staring at 6:15 p.m., Pastor Jeremiah Aguayo will offer an Inspirational service, followed with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Prayer service. 
    Marina passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. She was born January 3, 1951, to the late Rafael and Marina Cano. Marina married Joe Garcia on June 24, 1982, in Lamesa, Texas.
    Marina is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garcia, her parents, Rafael and Marina Cano, grandmother, Petra Cano (Nana) and great- grandson, Alston Thomas.
    Marina was a nurse at Medical Arts Hospital for over 26 years. She began her nursing career back in 1988. She loved her job and treated each one of her patients with the upmost respect and care. 
    Even if she was having a bad day, you wouldn’t ever know it because of her infections smile and love for helping anyone and everyone around her or entrusted in her care.
    Marina loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards, Loteria and going to the Bingo. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and cheer them on. 
    She loved to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and sun. She also enjoyed watching the Hallmark TV Channel. She had a big heart and touched many lives. She had a friendly face and always did what she could to help others.
    Marina is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Diana Garcia, Andrea (Andie) Garcia (Juan), Kristal Garcia (Bobby), and Lorena Solis, all of Lamesa, Texas; her son, Michael Garcia (Ashley), of Plains, Texas; her grandchildren, Anthony Garcia (Christy), Marcos Garcia, Kas Ramos, Amaris Iglesias, Ryan and Jeremy Vasquez, all of Lamesa, Texas,  Audrey, Brayden, and Brooklyn Garcia, all of Midland, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Zayden Garcia, Kyle Ramos, Kaiden Ramos, and Aaron Chapa, all of Lamesa, Texas, and Jordan Turner of Midland, Texas; her sisters, Julia Trevino, and Gloria Cano, both of Big Spring, Texas, Viola Hinojosa, of Victoria, Texas, Leonora Carrizales, of Houston, Texas; her brother, Ralph Cano, of Big Spring, Texas;  numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    Honoring Marina as her Pallbearers are, Anthony Garcia, Marcos Garcia, Brayden Garcia, Ruben Cardoza III, Isaac Diaz, Joseph Lopez.
