    Catholic funeral mass services will be celebrated for Maria M. Chavira, age 67, of Lamesa, TX., at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil and Deacon Daniel Valenzuela officiating. 
    Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home with Rosary prayer services starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Maria passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Lubbock, TX. 
    She was born on July 8, 1954 in Anton, TX. Maria married Luis Fernando Chavira, Sr. on December 18, 1975 in O’Donnell, TX. 
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Fernando Chavira, Sr.; her mother, Dora Lopez-DeAnda; her step-father, Servino “Chano” Gonzalez; her brother Renee Lopez; and her maternal grandparents, Juan and Adele Lopez.
    Maria was a homemaker. She enjoyed Bingo, dancing, reading, crochet, playing cards, music, watching the Hallmark movie channel, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Church.      Maria is survived by her sons, Luis Fernando Chavira, Jr. (April), and Adrian Chavira (Cita), all of Lamesa, TX.; her daughter, Carmen Gonzales (Adam) of McKinney, TX.; her brother, Blas DeAnda Manning (Fred) of Oklahoma, OK.; her sisters, Isabel Dominguez (Chach), and Yolanda Chavira (Chema), all of Lamesa, TX., and Soyla Fuentes (Lupe) of Weslaco, TX.; 10 grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
