Manuela "Nellie" Salgado

    A celebration of Life for Manuela (Nellie) Salgado, age 79, of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    The chapel funeral service will be Live Streaming via Gonzales Funeral Home Facebook starting at 9:50 a.m.  
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Face masks are required at the funeral home and cemetery. Due to the current area Covid-19 situation we continue to practice public safety measures.
    Visitation and viewing will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020, and Friday, December 18, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Gonzales Funeral Home.
    Manuela passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 in Odessa, TX. 
    She was born on July 30, 1941 in Gonzales, TX. Manuela married Monserrat Salgado in 1975 in Sundown, TX. 
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mindy Gutierrez; her granddaughters, Cynthia Alcorta, and Elizabeth Gutierrez; and her great-grand-daughter, Nevah Hernandez.
    Manuela loved taking care of her husband. She loved each one of her grandchildren dearly. She had a passion of taking care of her flowers.
    Manuela is survived by her husband, Monserrat Salgado of Lamesa, TX.; her sons, Danny Salgado and wife, Krystal Salgado of Lamesa, TX., Johnny Gutierrez of Lubbock, TX., and Ricky Gutierrez of Brownfield, TX.; her daughters, Mary Sigala and husband, Vicente Sigala of Hobbs, NM., Lisa Ruelas and husband, Martin Ruelas of El Paso, TX., and Betty Arredondo of Lamesa, TX.; 32 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends.
