Funeral services for Lyna Rose Boyd, 86, will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church Chapel with Pastor Jim Medley officiating.
Burial will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Lyna Rose went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 25, 2019. She passed away surrounded by her family in Lamesa, Texas.
She was born on June 11, 1932 in Lorenzo, Texas to Francis and Grace (Greaves) Brown. She married Thomas Hail Boyd in Lamesa on June 11, 1951. They were married 48 years.
She loved helping her husband on the farm. She also enjoyed fishing and camping in Colorado. She was well known for her famous fried chicken. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and loved her church family.
Lyna Rose is survived by her children, Brad Boyd and wife, Jan, of Lamesa and Gale Boyd and husband, Mike, of Ruidoso, New Mexico; brother, Jerry Brown and wife, Elba, of Dallas; grandson, Andy Boyd and wife, Morgan, of Lamesa; granddaughter, Julie Boyd of Dallas; and great grandchildren, Jadyn Boyd and Kash Boyd.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Ruby Dunn.
