Louisa Villarreal

    Mass of Christian Burial for Louisa “Weezie” Villarreal, 73, of Lamesa, will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at Saint Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rudolf Crasta officiating. 
    Interment will follow in Dawson County Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 and Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. 
    Weezie passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Round Rock. She was born on June 22, 1945 in Lamesa to Ambrosio and Petra (Tijerina) Hernandez. 
    She married Larry Villarreal on August 15, 1965 in Lamesa. They were married 53 years. Weezie worked at Caprock Federal Credit Union, First National Bank and Lamesa Tire and Battery. 
    She loved her grandchildren and they were her pride and joy. She also loved her nieces and nephews and they treated her as their second mother. She would always welcome you with a warm hug and her beautiful smile. She was a talented baker and was especially known for her brownies. She had a quick wit and always had a funny joke to share. 
    Weezie is survived by her husband, Larry Villarreal of Lamesa; children, Lucinda Cortez and husband, John, of Lamesa, BB Minjarez of Lubbock, and Luvin Villarreal and wife, Elissa, of Fort Worth; sister, Juanita Arocha and husband, Scott, of Georgetown; brothers, Modesto Hernandez and wife, Olivia, of Lubbock, Manuel Hernandez and wife, Connie, of Hutto, and Ben Hernandez of Lamesa; grandchildren, Danika Barrientes, Lynzy Minjarez, Ethan Minjarez, Catherine Villarreal, and Victor Villarreal; great-grandchildren, Maddie Estrada, and Myla Estrada; and her beloved dog, YoYo. 
    She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Celedonio Hernandez; and sisters-in-law, Carmen Martinez and Pauline Sierra. 
    The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society.
