June Nichols

    Edith June Nichols, 86, of Knott, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Stan Blevins officiating. Interment followed at Trinity Memorial Park.
    The family received friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2020 at the Funeral home. 
    She was born September 5, 1933 in Vealmoor to John S. Jackson and Connie Hanks Jackson. She moved to Socorro, NM as an infant. She moved to various locations before settling in Vealmoor, where they farmed. She married Robert Nichols, December 31, 1949 in Big Spring.
    She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking. She loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, and watching Pro basketball and tennis. She was an avid domino and card player.
    She is survived by her son, Keith Nichols and wife, Gwen of Ackerly; her daughter, Ann Nichols, of Big Spring; her son, Martin Nichols and wife, Lesli of Knott; thirteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Bruce Nichols; daughter, Janette Brown; grandson, Austin Nichols; brother, Billy Wayne Jackson; and two sisters, Thelma Williams and Joy Collins Smith.
    The family would like to thank the staff at the Beehive Homes for their excellent care. 
    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Circle Six Baptist Camp, P.O. Box 976, Stanton, TX 79782 or the charity of your choice.
