John Snell

    Graveside service for John David Snell, 51, of Ackerly, will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at Ackerly Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Branon Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held, Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    John David Snell was born June 12, 1972, in Big Spring, Texas. He left the earth to be home with God July 12, 2023. John was a lifelong resident of Ackerly, Texas, where he farmed for nearly thirty years.  He was a friend to many, he had a big heart, and was always eager to help people (or animals), but especially anyone elderly, as he got along with them great.
    You could always find John at a farm sale, where he was well recognized in many places. He loved to “shoot the bull” and drink beer with his friends, who would describe him as larger than life. John was funny, loyal, hard-working, kind, and a loving person with a heart of gold. When John walked into a room, his personality lit everyone’s face up, and he could make any crowd laugh.
    John loved his children more than anything. He protected and provided well, as taking care of his family and those he loved was his top priority.
    John is preceded in death by his Snell and Oaks grandparents, and his best friends, Terry Brown, Joe Dean Hall, and Thomas Brooks. He is survived by his children, Thomas Snell, and Charli Snell; parents, Marion and Joy Snell; brother, Matt Snell and family; sister Melissa Snell and family; many uncles, aunts, cousins and a world full of friends.
