JoAnn Newbrough of Lamesa, Texas died May 18, 2023, in Andrews, Texas at the age of 86.
JoAnn was born November 10, 1936, in Lamesa, Texas to Bailey and Thelma (Denton) White.
JoAnn married Roger Newbrough in 1955 when they were just 18 years old. They added to their family a year later with the birth of their son Jay Alan.  Their daughter Debra Ann came a few years after that. Though Lamesa had always been their home, they moved her young family to Coyanosa, Texas for a farming opportunity. After being away from home for eight years, they moved back to Lamesa to farm and be closer to their families. On occasion, they would venture out for a date night to Sky-Vue or Spurlock’s for a chili-covered something.
JoAnn dedicated her life to her family.  She loved her brothers, loved Christmas and the Dallas Cowboys. Her grandkids brought her so much joy, and she loved reading the Bible. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lamesa.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Newbrough of Andrews; son, Jay Newbrough (wife Debbie) of Andrews; brother, Weldon White of Lamesa; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Don White and Dennis White; and grandson, Brad Newbrough.
