Jesus Rodriguez, Sr.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Jesus Rodriguez, Sr. age 90 of Lamesa, TX. at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2024 and Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary prayer service on Sunday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Jesus passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 1, 2024 in Lamesa. TX. He was born on September 9, 1933 in Benoit, Mississippi. Jesus married Hortencia Garza on January 15, 1955 in Lamesa, TX.
Jesus was preceded in death by his wife, Hortencia Garza Rodriguez on October 25, 2020; his son, Carlos Rodriguez on August 17, 2015; his parents, Encarnacion and Martina Rodriguez.
Jesus was raised in Lamesa and worked at the Lamesa Cotton Oil Mill and later with Cox Implement until his retirement. In the year 2021 Jesus met Ofelia Lucio, and they started a new life together with both of their
families. Jesus was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Jesus is survived by his significant other, Ofelia Lucio of Lamesa, TX.; his sons, Jesus Rodriguez, Jr., and wife, Guille of Midland, TX., and Chon Rodriguez and wife, Erin of Lamesa, TX.; his extended Lucio family, daughters, Isabel Lopez (Gene) of Waco, TX., Grace Moreno (Chuy) of Lamesa, TX, Elsa Garza (Gabriel) of Midland, TX., Laura Marquez (Chris) of Lubbock, TX., BiBi Lucio of Midland, TX., Caroline Lucio of Midland, TX., Ofelia Lucio of Midland, TX.; sons, Pepe Lucio of Lubbock, TX., Danny Lucio of Lames, TX., Paul Lucio and wife, Mandy of Lamesa, TX., Javier Lucio and wife, Amy of Dallas, TX., and Michael Lucio and wife, Diana of Midland, TX.; Rodriguez family grandchildren 7, grandchildren, 17, great-great-grandchildren 12; Lucio family grandchildren 27, great-grandchildren 37, great-great-grandchildren 2; numerous relatives and friends.
