Jesse Fernandez

    Graveside service for Jesse Fernandez, 57, of Lamesa will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Dawson County Cemetery with Father Chaco Thadathil officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Rosary will be said Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Branon Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m.  
    Jesse passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Ft. Worth, TX. 
    He was born on June 21, 1963 in Lamesa, TX. to Cesario and Maria (Vidales) Fernandez in Lamesa, TX. He graduated from Lamesa High School and then married Sylvia Reyes on June 2, 1984 in Lamesa, TX., they were married for 36 years.
    He was a devoted Catholic and an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Margaret Mary Church where he was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Cursillista, usher at Our Lady of Guadalupe, helped with the RCIA classes and was a past president of the parish council. He believed in God and was very strong in his faith. 
    In January he would have been with the United States Postal Services for 30 years. He was a dedicated man to his family, work and the organizations he was involved in. Jesse loved all animals and always made sure the bird feeder was filled. He never met a stranger and would not hesitate to help anyone in need. 
    Jesse will be missed by his family, friends, church and community. Jesse was especially loved by his nieces, nephews and all of his many Godchildren.
    He is survived by his wife Sylvia Fernandez of Lamesa, TX.; father Cesario Fernandez of Lamesa, TX.; sisters; Louisa Barrientos and husband Tony of Lamesa, TX. and Lupe Fernandez of Lamesa, TX.; and a brother; Joe Fernandez and wife Gloriane of Wylie, TX. 
    He is preceded in death by his mother.
