Jerry Cornett

    Funeral Services for Jerry Cornett, 66, of Seminole were held, Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Vance Thomas officiating, interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. 
    Jerry passed away December 27, 2021 in Seminole, Texas. 
    He was born January 24, 1955 to Jim and Shirley Sutton Cornett in Seminole, Tx. Jerry married Tanya, August 16. 1980 in Seagraves, Tx. He was employed for Oxy as a Production Field Analyst for 11 years. 
    Jerry was an avid golfer winning several tournaments. He was a loving father, wonderful husband and awesome grandfather to his grandchildren. Jerry loved his wife and family dearly. He was known for his epic personality and was very much loved by his community. Jerry was also a member of the South Seminole Baptist Church. Jerry will be missed by many but will remain in our hearts forever. 
    He is preceded in death by his father Jim Cornett and his brother Rusty Cornett.
    Jerry is survived by his wife Tanya Cornett of Seminole, Tx; 2 sons, Chris Cornett and wife Stephanie Cornett of Seminole, Tx and Clay Cornett and wife Lindsey Cornett of Fort Worth, Texas; 4 grandchildren; Reighna, Daycia and Tristian Cornett all of Seminole, Tx and Tommy Cornett of Fort Worth, Tx; his mother Shirley Follis and husband Ed Follis of O’Donnell, Texas; sisters; Connie Ochoa of Seagraves, Tx, LaJean Van of Abilene, Tx and Deborah Vance of TRC, New Mexico; also brother-in-law Billy Welcher of Lamesa, Tx. 
    In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Laci Welcher Cancer Fund C/O First United Bank.
