Janie M. Chapa

    A Celebration of Life for Janie M Chapa, 74, of Lamesa will be held in Lamesa under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    A Memorial will take place Friday, September 17, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.   Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Branon Funeral Home Chapel.
    Janie was called Home on Sunday, August 8, 2021, in Farmers Branch, TX. 
    She was born July 13, 1947, in San Saba, TX, to Julia and Juan Martinez.  Janie lived in Carrollton, TX with her daughter and family. 
    Janie loved spending time with her great grandbabies coloring and playing ball as well as watching them play soccer during the season. She also enjoyed staying up late sneaking snacks while watching her favorite TV shows: George Lopez, Golden Girls and Friends. She always loved going to new places to eat and spending time with family.
    She is survived by her daughters, Roxana Salazar and husband Nick, of Carrollton, TX and Julie Martinez of Lubbock, TX.; four grandchildren Valerie Salazar and Brandon Govan of Carrollton, TX, Andrew Salazar of Odessa, TX, Andrea Tayler and husband Branden of Coppell, TX and Micquela Martinez of Lubbock, TX.; three great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ariana Govan and Calvin Tayler.; sisters, Evelyn Barrientez of Lamesa, TX, Hellen Zanders of Big Spring, TX., and Rosemary DeLaRosa and husband Johnny of Midland, TX.; brothers, Jesus Martinez, Eugene Martinez and wife Margie of Midland, TX., Joe Martinez of Big Spring, TX.; and numerous nephews and nieces. 
    Janie was preceded in death by her husband Jose Chapa, her parents Julia and Juan Martinez, sister Mary Marquez, and brothers Frank and Ruddy Martinez.
