Janie Gamez

    SanJuana “Janie” Gamez, age 66, passed from this life at Midland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 19, 2022. 
    She was born in Shelley, Idaho on Tuesday June 7, 1955 to the late Ines Bordayo and Acension Balderas. Janie worked in retail sales.
    Janie was a faithful Christian woman who loved Jesus. She enjoyed singing and dancing in church. She never gave up and was always a fighter. The best Mom and Grandma in the world, she was big on family and loved her friends dearly. She could light up a room with her smile. She loved to be dolled up with all of her make-up on and liked eating her candy and soda. Her hobbies included sewing, drawing and doing arts and crafts. 
    Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons: Johnny Gamez and wife Maria of Midland and Prajedes Gamez Jr. and wife Lorena Ramos of Odessa; daughters: Angel Gamez of Odessa and Olga Olivia Salazar and husband Jesse of Odessa; and her sister: Rosemary Bordayo and husband John Hawkins of Lamesa; grandchildren: Miguel Angel Gamez, Auden Joel Gamez, Juan Isai Gamez, Janet Isela Gamez, Javier Isabel Gamez, Maraubi Salazar, Jaden Salazar, Joshua Salazar, and Jaida Salazar; great-grandson: Jeremiah Isai Gamez and one great grandbaby on the way; her fur babies: Phoebe and Kiki; and numerous extended family members and friends.
    Janie is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Joe Angel Bordayo; and husband: Prajedes Lopez Gamez.
    Visitation begins on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at noon at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Acres West 24-Hour Chapel.
