Jacalyn Sue Howard

A Celebration of Life service for Jacalyn Sue Howard, 81, of Welch will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 in First Baptist Church activity building.
Services will be officiated by Pastor Kalith Brown, Pastor James Smith and Billy Ray Mayfield. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Branon Funeral Home.
She was born on November 23, 1941 in Lamesa, Texas to Jack Vaughn and Jo Brown. Sue married Troy Howard on October 8, 1960 in Lamesa, Texas. They were married 62 years.
Sue is survived by her husband, Troy Howard of Welch; daughter Sharla Adam and husband Paul of San Angelo, son Todd Howard and wife Staci of Lamesa; 5 grandchildren, Corey Adam and wife Paige of San Angelo, Bailey Haugen and husband Michael of San Angelo, Hillari Rawls and husband Dakota of Benbrook; Kiley Howard of Lubbock, Taylor Gully and husband Tyler of San Angelo; 3 great-grandchildren, Avery Adam, Clark Haugen, and Jordan Rawls.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, L.B. and Mabel Vaughn, parents Jack Vaughn and Jo Brown, and sister Peggy Lane.
Sue was an avid traveler. Raised by her grandparents, she was stung by the travel bug early in life. In the mid 1980’s, as a travel agent, Sue began sending people all over the world. She loved traveling vicariously through them, but even better was when she could see the world.
More importantly, Sue LOVED Jesus and singing his praises. She sang with several quartets, trios, choirs and her precious Emmaus girls. It never mattered if she sang in public or for events. It was always about the precious praise and gift the Lord gave her.
She is no longer in pain nor suffering, but worshipping at the feet of her Lord and Savior.
Sue will be dearly missed by family and all who had the opportunity to be discipled and prayed for by her.
The family suggests sending memorials to La Mesa de Dios, PO Box 1251, Brownfield, Tx 79316.
