Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ignacio G. Perez age 72 of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Lamesa Church of Christ with Pastor Mark Hackett officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
A viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Sunday, August 13, 2023, and Monday, August 14, 2023, from 9:00a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a family visitation hour on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Ignacio passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in Lamesa, TX. He was born on July 31, 1951, in San Marcus, TX. Ignacio married Rosa Vasquez on May 20, 1983, in Lamesa, TX.
Ignacio was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Julia Perez; his brothers, Mike Perez, Jesse Perez, Juan Perez, Ramon Perez, Gabriel Perez, Frank Perez, and Roy Perez; his sisters, Mary Helen Garcia, and Anita Perez.
Ignacio enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed playing poker, dominoes, going fishing, having Bible studies, and singing. He loved supporting and watching his grandkids play sports. Ignacio was the best cook and loved making breakfast.
Ignacio is survived by his family, wife, Rosa Perez of Lamesa, TX.; his sons, Alfonso Perez (Amanda Montez) of Lamesa, TX., Iggy Perez and wife Karen Perez of Loveland, CO.; his daughters Donna Cortez and husband Gavino Cortez, and Monica Sauseda and husband Austin Sauseda, all of Lamesa, TX., Stephanie Perez McDonald and husband Demetrius McDonald of Windsor, CO., and Melissa Armijo and husband Art Armijo of Greeley, CO.; his brothers, Marcos Perez of Lamesa, TX., and Pete Perez and wife Lydia Perez of Greenwood, TX.; his sister, Gloria Cerna of Lamesa, TX.; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
