Guy Kinnison

    Graveside service for Guy Kinnison, 84, of Lamesa, will be held Monday, September 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Jim Medley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Guy passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Lamesa with his daughters by his side. 
    He was born March 25, 1938, in Lamesa, TX to Hollin and Violet (Key) Kinnison.  He married Beverlee Ann Ingle on January 16, 1970 in Midland; they were married for 44 years.
    Guy served in the United States Army before becoming a police officer in Lamesa and then becoming a deputy. Upon the Sheriff’s retirement at that time, Guy was appointed to that position, which he held for 16 years. After his own retirement from law enforcement he was elected as the Dawson County Commissioner for Precinct 4. He also the owned and operated Kinnison Welding.
    Guy is survived by his daughters, Michal Kinnison Douglas of Lubbock, and Tracie Kinnison Vinson and husband Kelly of Lubbock; grandchildren, J. Michael Vinson of Lubbock, Karisa Langley and husband Jody of Lubbock, Jessica Vinson Creswell and husband Reece of Lubbock; and great-grandchildren, Jada Addison, Skylar Vinson, Westyn Addison, Remi Creswell, Rylee Creswell, and Ramsey Creswell.
    Guy was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverlee Kinnison; son J. Kinnison; and brother Boy Kinnison.
    Serving as honorary pallbearers: Kelly Vinson, J. Michael Vinson, Reece Creswell, Jody Langley, Jaime Annalla, and Tomas Quintanilla.
    The family would like to thank Angel Care Hospice; and his caregivers, Esther, Tomas, and Jamie.
