Guadalupe passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 in Lubbock, TX.
Guadalupe C. Vasquez was born on June 18, 1948 to Juanita and Felipe Vasquez in Runge, TX. He was raised in Lamesa where he married Caroline Castillo on February 2, 1974.
Guadalupe was also known as “Walle” or “Lupe.”  He worked for the City of Lamesa Sanitation Dept. for 20 years, and at the same time he held a part-time job at Town and Country store for 20 years as well. He retired from both jobs and went on to truck driving, eventually owning his own trucking business. Lupe enjoyed driving all over the U.S.A. He loved to sight see. His favorite pastime was to watch his granddaughters’ soccer games. He loved all of his 7 grandchildren and his angel granddaughter in Heaven. His free time was spent with the grandkids.
Guadalupe was an amazing father. He always made sure his kids had everything they needed. He was a provider and a protector for his family. Lupe also enjoyed working on cars and tractors. He was great with his hands and could fix just about anything.
We will miss his smile and all his silly jokes. Lupe loved to joke around. His wit kept us laughing. We will always carry on your legacy and remember all the good times we had with you. His favorite saying was, “ I’m gonna keep on Truckin’ ”.
Lupe was preceded in death by his infant sister, Caroline Vasquez; his infant granddaughter McKenzie Hope Cook; his parents, Juanita and Felipe Vasquez; and his special aunt Isidra Vasquez.
Guadalupe leaves behind his wife, Caroline Vasquez of Lamesa; daughters, Belinda Vasquez of Lubbock, TX., and Nancy Vasquez of Midland, TX.; son Bobby Jay Vasquez (Kristal Garcia); his brothers, Juan (Gloria), and Ruben Vasquez, all of Lamesa, and Richard Vasquez of Lubbock, TX.; his grandkids include, Jaclyn Marie, and Gabriela Ann Vasquez of Lubbock, TX., McKenna Faith, McKinley Love, and McKadyn Grace Cook of Midland, TX., Ryan Jay, and Jeremy Dylan Vasquez of Lamesa, TX; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Vasquez, Vicente Vasquez, Juan Vasquez, Joe Vasquez, Joe Manuel Lopez, Albert “Cuco” V. Sanchez.
