Greg Woodul

    Graveside service for Greg Woodul, 72, of Rockwall, formerly of Lamesa, will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with Pastor Jim Medley officiating under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Greg passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, in Rockwall, TX. surrounded by his loving family. 
    He was born January 13, 1949 in Lamesa, Texas to Lex and Julia (Carlton) Woodul. He married the love of his life, Neta Hightower, September 19, 1970 in Lamesa.  They were married for 51 wonderful years. 
    Greg served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego during Vietnam War, and then graduated from West Texas A & M University. He is a member of First Baptist Church Lamesa. Greg was a third generation cotton farmer and his life’s work remained caring for the family homestead. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to take them for ice cream.
    Greg is survived by his wife, Neta Woodul of Rockwall, TX.; his children, Trista Pyeatt and husband Nick of Altoona, PA, and Lex Woodul and wife Kim of Rockwall, TX.; his grandchildren, Gavin, Josie, Arden, Reins and Fitz; his sisters, Lexeen Weaver of Midland, TX., and Klata Peacock of Arlington, TX.; and his brother, Layton Zant Woodul of Abernathy, TX.
    He is preceded in death by his parents.
    Honoring Greg as pallbearers, will be; Mike Addison, Rocky Sheppard, Bill Paulk, Charlie Hightower, Dan Hightower, Cody Hightower, Lex Woodul, Layton Zant Woodul and Sam Adams.
