Georgia Fuqua

    Graveside service for Georgia Alice Fuqua, 99, of Lamesa will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Gentrys Mill Cemetery, Hamilton, Texas with Pastor LJ Wright officiating. 
    Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Georgia passed away on May 15, 2021 in Wolfforth, Texas.  
    She was born August 14, 1921 in Hazeldell, Texas to Elie and Oatie (Westmoreland) Westfall. She married A.B. Fuqua May 31, 1941 in Carlton, TX.
    During WWII Georgia represented women in the wartime workforce during the era of Rosie The Riveter.  She was also a seamstress for the public and was a line supervisor at Dotty Dan for many years.
    Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Glenn Fuqua of Big Spring, TX.; granddaughter, Vanessa Gill and husband Martin of New Home, TX.; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters, Virginia Ann Stephen and Mary Frances Shanks.                            
    She is preceded in death by her parents, Elie and Oatie; husband A.B.; daughter, Debra Lynn Furlow; and granddaughter Audra Barkowsky.          
    The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
