Graveside services for Alice Gay Shofner, 78, formerly of Lamesa, was held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Dawson County Cemetery with Jim Medley officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Alice Gay passed away on Thursday , December 13, 2018 at Brodie Ranch Facility in Austin, Texas. She was born on February 9,1940 to Selby and Thelma (Sealy) Scott in Lamesa, Texas.
She married Calruth Reams Shofner on October 9, 1958 at Five Mile Baptist Church. They were married 50 years. She worked for Lamesa Press-Reporter for many years in the circulation department.
Alice Gay is survived by children, Dana Prator and husband, John, of Cedar Creek, Shani Chandler and husband, Bobby, of Cristoval, and Mark Shofner and wife, Robyn, of Lamesa; grandchildren, John Thomas Prator, Gunner Shofner, and Erin Green; sister, Janet Matthews and aunt, Teddy Joy Shrum; and brother, Dale Scott.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brother, Butch Scott.
