Gabriel Rodriguez

    A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated for Gabriel Rodriguez, age 56, of Lamesa, TX. at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel, officiating. 
    The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, TX.
    Viewing will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Gabriel passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Lubbock. 
    He was born on August 15, 1963 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. Gabriel married Maria Castro on October 1984 in Juarez, Mexico.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Gabriel Rodriguez; and his sister, Soledad Castro.
    Gabriel worked many years with King-Mesa Gin. He loved to be around horses, and he really enjoyed his job for a short time at Brock’s Veterinary, where he was surrounded by them. He mostly loved being with his precious family and friends, and enjoyed Bar-B-Queing for them, especially his special famous Ribs. 
    Gabriel is survived by his family: his wife, Maria Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX.; his daughters, Zenia Ramirez and husband, Rey Ramirez, Cita Chavira and husband, Adrian Chavira, Gabriela Rodriguez and husband, Alan Morales, and Laura Rodriguez, all of Lamesa, TX.; his grandchildren, Gabriel S. Rodriguez, Damian and Mia Ramirez, Alexa, Sophia, Lillian Chavira, Halie, Omi, Melanie and Miley Ortiz, and Johnny Morales; his mother, Dionicia Yanez Chavarria of Cd. Juarez, Mexico; his brothers, Martin (Irma) Yanez of Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, Jose (Velia) Yanez, Jesus (Sandra) Yanez, and Manuel (Janette) Yanez, all of Cd. Juarez, Mexico; his sisters, Isabel (Javier) Arrieta of Cd. Juarez, Mexico, Carmen (Rigoberto) Jurado, all of Cd. Juarez, Mexico, and Cecilia (Severiano) Mendez of Las Cruces, NM.; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
