Fontaine Cope

    Fontaine Fowler Cope, 82, of Lamesa passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Lamesa. 
    She was born March 9, 1938 in Ozona, Texas to Sam Austin and Margaret (Drake)Fowler. She married Nolen Harris Cope June 7, 1958 in Floydada. They were married 60 years. 
    Fontaine acquired the love of becoming a Gemologist in 1982, she also loved being a part of the Community Theatre, Garden Club, 48 Delphians and was a board member and president of the Jockey Club in Ruidoso, NM. She also enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends, attending Cornerstone Fellowship and was involved in the R.B. Theme Tape Ministries. She loved her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
    She is survived by her children, Joe Cope and wife Deedra, and Tom Cope all of Lamesa; grandchildren, Kesley Cope of Houston, and Samuel Austin Cope and wife, Sharayah, of Abilene.
    Fontaine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Nolen Cope, and her son, Sam Cope.
    The family suggests memorials to the Sam Cope Memorial at Lamesa National Bank and Home Hospice of Big Spring 111 E. 7th St A, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
    Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home.
