Eva Doyle

Eva (Murry) Wells Doyle, age 102, of Gail, Texas passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022.
Eva was born August 26, 1920 in Fisher County, Texas to Lonnie and Gracie May Light.  She was raised in Fischer County till her dad moved the family by horse and wagon to west of O’Donnell to farm.
Eva married Garland May Doyle on December 19, 1936 in Lamesa, Tx after going on just one date.  They were married for 52 years until his passing on June 27, 1988.
Garland and Eva farmed and raised their 3 children in the Plains community near the old Mesquite school house.
Eva was the sweetest and most down-to-earth person.  She never used a computer and only had a cell phone for a short time.  For all the years and changes that she saw in her 102 years, she said the best invention was the Washing Machine.  She said that scrubbing clothes on the old wash boards was hard work and not very much fun.  Eva said she wanted to be a teacher but once she had her children she was too busy raising her family so instead she got to watch and teach all the neighbor kids in the community who came to visit.
Eva lived at her home and celebrated her 100th birthday in the community and then was moved to Lynnwood at Tahoka.  Eva was a faithful member of the Mesquite Church of Christ and later the Gail Church of Christ.
Eva is survived by her daughter Judy Kingston of Gail, Texas, 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Garland, her son Lonnie Doyle, her son Larry Doyle, and 2 grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held Sunday, October 9th, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home, 403 N. Austin Avenue, Lamesa, Tx.  A Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 10th, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Gail Cemetery, Gail, Texas with Minister Mark Hackett officiating.
The family wishes to thank the staff and management of Lynnwood Assisted Living for all their love, kindness and care that they showed Eva.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
