Edward Dunn

    Edward Stewart Dunn, 94, of Ruidoso NM, after an accident, died quietly in his Lubbock home surrounded by loved ones on January 31, 2023.
     He was born May 18, 1928 in Crosbyton, TX to William Theodric and Edna Dunn.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Roberta Grady.
    Edward is survived by Jean, his wife of 75 years, son Bill Dunn of Munford, TN, daughter Anita Evans of Lubbock, daughter Jeanette Navarro of Luling, TX, seven grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
    He was a loving husband, dad, granddad, great granddad. and friend to all.  Edward and his family farmed during the early years of their marriage, with 16 of those years in Dawson Co. In 1966, he and his family moved to Lubbock, so he could earn a master’s degree in German language from Texas Tech. He and Jean moved to Germany where they were educators with Department of Defense schools for almost 20 years. They retired to live in Ruidoso, NM where they have enjoyed living since 1990. 
    While in Germany and since retirement, he and Jean enjoyed travelling to more than 24 countries. They also enjoyed fishing, playing 42 and visiting with family and friends. Edward spent his time caring for his wife, reading, sitting on the front porch, and maintaining their log cabin home.
    The service for Edward, officiated by Pastor Dennis Adams, will be held at Friendship Baptist Church southwest of Lamesa, Texas (501 County Road 24 Lamesa, TX 79331), on February 4 at 11:00 am, under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ralls, TX. 
    Visitation with the family will precede the service at 9:30 am in the church
fellowship hall and after the service, with lunch provided for family and friends. 
     Honorary pall bearers will be the grand children: Jodi McCrory, Jason Dunn, Justin Dunn, Tommy Evans, Rita Evans, Jennifer Gary, and Julia Sanders.
     Memorial contributions can be made in Edward’s name to a charity of your choice.
