Donna Airhart

Funeral services for Donna Kay Airhart of Lamesa will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Second Baptist Church in Lamesa with Dennis Adams presiding.  Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29th, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Branon Funeral Home.
She passed away on July 23rd at the age of 76.
Donna was born in Lamesa, Texas on February 24, 1946, to Jack and Pat Warren.  She lived her entire life in Dawson County.  Donna graduated from Klondike High School in 1964, and married Gayland Airhart that same year.  They settled in the Sand community west of Lamesa where they have been involved in farming and ranching.
Donna was a devoted wife and mother who was deeply involved in all of her children’s, grandchildren’s, and nieces’ and nephews’ activities.  She spent thousands of hours attending football games, basketball games, and stock shows.  Donna was involved in every aspect of 4H, culminating in her receiving the Adult Silver Spur Award for her exemplary leadership; was an accomplished seamstress and cook; and enjoyed raising and tending to calves, baby goats, donkeys, and any other animals she thought could entertain all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Donna decided to attend Texas Tech University later in life, where she graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA, earning a degree in substance abuse.  Donna also became very involved in scrapbooking, creating treasured legacies for her grandchildren and various nieces and nephews.  Painting became another late-in-life pastime, where she specialized in depicting farm animals.
Donna was a faithful member of New Home Baptist Church for many years, before becoming an integral member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gerald.
She is survived by her husband, Gayland; two sons, Kent and Brent Airhart; two grandchildren, Chloe Love and Slade Airhart; siblings  Jackie Warren and wife Jean, Mitzi Nix and husband Dave, all of Lamesa, and Connie Brown of Twin Falls, Idaho.  She is also survived by too many nieces and nephews to count or name.
The family suggests memorials to Friendship Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.  To send condolences online, please visit www.branonfuneralhome.com.
