Darlene Taylor     

    Darlene Taylor, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 82, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on June 22, 1942, in Lamesa, Texas to Horace Paul Franklin and Geneva Billie (Hurst) Franklin.
    Darlene grew up in Lamesa, Texas, where she graduated from Lamesa High School. She went on to attend business school in New Mexico, setting the foundation for a career in the banking industry. Darlene worked in various banking roles, large and small banks. Her meticulous work ethic and friendly demeanor left an indelible mark on all those who worked with her. 
    On January 1, 1965, Darlene married the love of her life, Wanza Ray Taylor. Together, they shared many devoted years filled with cherished moments. In her personal time, Darlene enjoyed coloring books, which brought her relaxation and joy. She was a warm and caring person; known for her gentle spirit and the love she gave to those around her. Darlene found strength and comfort in her beliefs throughout her life. She will be remembered fondly and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 
    Darlene is survived by her son, Paul L. Taylor; grandson, Aiden James Taylor; sister-in-law. Carolyn Taylor Barringer; and a host of other loving family and friends. 
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Wanza Ray Taylor; son, Jasper Taylor; parents, Horace and Geneva Franklin; and brother, Jesse James Franklin. 
    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
