Damon passed away on December 7, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by his family as they prayed over him and sang worship songs. He was born February 10, 1983 in Ottawa, Kansas to his birthmother Scarlett Guyett. He married Jessica Morris in September of 2016 in Weatherford, Texas. They were married 7 years.
Damon graduated from Ottawa High School in 2001 and joined the Army National Guard where he served for sixteen years. During those years he became crew chief with the 108th aviation Flying Monkeys, all while attending Kansas State University, later graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering. While attending college he was deployed once to Iraq and once to Kuwait. He found joy in helping others and sharing his great sense of humor. He loved to barbecue and make his own wine. But… his greatest accomplishment of all was accepting Christ through baptism in 2019.
Damon is survived by his wife Jessica Guyett of Lamesa, Tx.; mother, Scarlett Guyett of Lamesa, Tx.; brother, Tyler Guyett and wife Whitney of Monroe, Louisiana.
Damon is preceded in death by his grandfather Herbert Guyett.
