Conlin Small

    Conlin Gibson Small was born on May 30, 2003. He left this earthly life on March 20, 2021.
    Conlin lived life big, and he loved with his whole heart. Everyone who met him loved him almost instantly. His joy was contagious, and he shared that joy with everyone he met. He was a defender of the underdog, always finding words of encouragement when he knew someone was having a hard time. He loved kids, especially his stock show kids, and could almost always be found with one or two of them on their way to find a snow cone or some Dippin’ Dots.
    Conlin was a 4-year letterman in baseball. He began playing Little League when he was 4 years old and later played select ball for several years before starting high school baseball. He was a member of the ‘20-’21 district championship basketball team, earning 1st team all-district honors, a member of the FFA Cotton Judging Team, cast member of One-Act Play throughout junior high and high school, and active participant in the O’Donnell Livestock Association, showing steers at local, county, and major livestock shows. Conlin was in the graduating class of 2021 and would have graduated on May 28, 2021.
    He is preceded in death by his grandparents, JoAnn and Ray Small and Treva Franklin, and his cousin, David Austin Gass.
    Those left to cherish his memory are his mom, Terri Small of O’Donnell, Texas; his dad, Monte Small of Lamesa, Texas; his Poppy, David Franklin, of O’Donnell, Texas; his sister, Jennifer Evans, and her sons, Ethan, Evan, and Andy, of Pilot Point, Texas; his brother, Blake Small, and wife, Ashley, and their children, Brayden, Nash, and Molly, of Denton, Texas; family members: Kim Small of Bedford, Texas; Randy and Linda Small of Mineral Wells, Texas; Tim and Shirley Small of Carrollton, Texas; Kristi Small, of Fairview, Texas; Anita and Glen Morton of Lubbock, Texas; Doris and Todd Gass of O’Donnell, Texas; Ben and Debbie Franklin of O’Donnell, Texas; Paula and Greg Moore of Richardson, Texas; and cousins: Casondra and Chris Jackson and their children, Brayden, Addyson, Keaton, and Rylen Damron, of Midland, Texas; Crystal and Carl Leake and their children, Selah and Sam, of Abilene, Texas, Kayla and Tate Gass and their son, Wyatt, of O’Donnell, Texas; Elizabeth and Andy Miers and Julietta Jane of Midland, Texas; Jack Ben Franklin of Lubbock, Texas; Abby Grace Franklin of Lubbock, Texas; Townsend Moore of Carrollton, Texas; and Jonathan Moore of Chicago, Illinois; and a world full of people who he called his friends.
    In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Conlin Small Scholarship Fund or the scholarship of your choice.
    Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at First Baptist Church in O’Donnell. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at O’Donnell High School Gym with burial to follow at O’Donnell Cemetery.
