Claudio Bara

    A Catholic funeral mass service will be held to celebrate Claudio Bara, age 67, of Lamesa, TX, at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2022, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial committal will follow at the Dawson County Cemetery.
    Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with Holy Rosary prayer services starting 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Claudio passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Lamesa, TX. 
    He was born May 17, 1955, in Lovington, New Mexico. Claudio married Mickey Baltazar on November 11, 1972, in Lamesa, TX.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Eloisa Vara; his sister, Yolanda Vara Arredondo.
    Claudio worked for over 25 years at the Lamesa John Deere tractor house. He was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church until his illness prevented his attendance. Clyde loved nothing more than spending precious time with his family. Claudio’s favorite thing to do was go to the lake.  He enjoyed game nights with his children and grandchildren.
    Claudio Bara is survived by his wife, Mickey Bara of Lamesa, TX. His sons, Claudio Bara Jr.’s wife, Anita Martinez, Andy Bara, Adrian Bara’s wife, Stephanie Bara, and Christopher Bara Sr., are all of Lamesa, TX. His daughters, Nicole Cortez’s husband Caleb Cortez, and Mary Ann Bara are all of Lamesa, TX, and Crecia Little of Big Spring, TX. Claudio has also had 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Claudio’s siblings are Thomas Vara Jr., Jesse Vara, Albert Vara, Anthony Vara, Mary Zavala, Delia Barrera, Kathy Molina, and Gloria Cantu and his adopted children, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. All loved him dearly.
