Christine Salazar

    A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Christine Salazar, age 46, of Andrews, TX., at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. 
    Face mask are required at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, and on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home. A Rosary prayer service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Christine passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 in Midland, TX. 
    She was born December 24, 1974 in Lamesa, TX. 
    She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Frank Castillo, Sr.; her grandmothers, Carmela Castillo, Victoria Flores, and Lucia Villalobos; her father, Hector Jimenez; her aunt, Alicia Castillo; her uncle, Frank Castillo, Jr.
    Christine was a graduate of Andrews High School Class of 1994. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and was an avid fan, Texas Tech, and the Texas Rangers. Her favorite player she enjoyed watching was her nephew “G”; she was his biggest Fan! Christine also enjoyed unplanned road trips and vacations. There was nothing she enjoyed most than spending precious time with all 9 of her cousins at parties and cookouts when she was not with her family. She worked as a childcare worker and loved each of the children as if they were her own.
    Christine is survived by her mother, Dolores Castillo Jimenez of Andrews, TX., and her father, Victor Salazar of Arlington, TX.; her siblings, Lisa Castaneda of Odessa, TX., Lauri Martinez of Andrews, TX., James Eric Salazar of Dallas, TX.; her nephews, Marcus Jimenez of Virginia Beach, Damian Martinez of Waco, Gilberto Martinez of Andrews,  Aaron Carrasco, Samuel Castaneda, and Nicholas Castaneda, all of Odessa; her nieces, Khloe Martinez of Andrews, Journee Carrasco, and Angele Castaneda, both of Odessa; her great nephew, Matthew Martinez of Waco; her great niece, Frankie Jimenez of Virginia Beach; her uncles, Santos Castillo, and Ruben Salazar, both of Odessa, TX., and Frank Valdez of North Richland Hills, TX.; her aunts, Janie Borjon of Midland, TX., and Margaret Orona of Lamesa, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
    Pallbearers: Gilberto Martinez, Nicolas Castaneda, Samuel Castaneda, Edward Gonzalez, Jr., Nathan Gonzalez, Robert Lascano.
