Charles Lee Roy Rhodes, Sr.

    A private family memorial will take place for Charles Lee Roy Rhodes Sr., 76, of Lamesa, Texas at a later date in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
    Rhodes died at 4:32 on July 19, 2020 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas after a long battle with brain cancer.
    He was born January 4, 1944 in El Paso, Texas. He married Sandra Gaskins on September 25, 1965 in Knott, Texas. He was a commercial truck driver, and a watercolor artist. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Lamesa. He enjoyed painting and donating his paintings to raise money for those is need. He loved fishing and spending time with all his family on the Frio River.
    Survivors include: Sandra Rhodes of Lamesa, Texas; daughters, Sharla Walker (Doug) of Damon, Texas; Melody Garza (Wally) of Lamesa, Texas; Charles Rhodes, Jr. of Weatherford, Texas; brothers Tim Rhodes (Carmen) of Tularosa, New Mexico, and John Rhodes (Karen) of Algonquin, IL.
    He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Rhodes and Dovie Lucille Russell.
    He had five grandchildren: Colton Walker, Lauren Walker, Tyler Garza (Marissa), Mark Garza, and Chase Rhodes.
