Cary Thetford

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:am for former resident, Cary Thetford, 59, of Fort Worth, Texas. The service will be held at Hallmark Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Chaplain, Kevin Watson, will be the speaker along with the Edgecliff Village Fire Department performing a special tribute.

Cary went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 23, 2023. Surrounded by his loving family and his brothers and sisters of Edgecliff Village Fire Department.

Cary was born on May 13, 1964 in Levelland, Texas. He graduated from Anton High School in 1982. He had a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from University of Phoenix. He moved to Lamesa to work and there he met the love of his life, Krenna Teague. They married on August 6, 1988 and were married for 35 years.

Cary worked for Shell for 35 years and was the PIC, Person in charge, on an offshore platform. He was also a Paramedic and Firefi ghter for 33 years. He was a Captain for Edgecliff Village Fire Department in Edgecliff Village, Texas. He loved helping others and never met a stranger. He loved to hunt but his passion was to spend time with his family.

Cary had three children: Kade Thetford, of Lubbock, Texas, Keighen Thetford of Fort Worth, Texas and Karis Thetford White of Fort Worth, Texas. He had five amazing grandchildren: Kamryn Thetford, 6, Wyatt Thetford, 3, of Lubbock, and Clayton White, 6, Chaiden White, 4, Colston White, 3, of Fort Worth. His grandchildren loved to go see him and fire trucks at the fire station. They loved their “Grumpie” and will miss him so much as will everyone that knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. His parents: Sandra Davidson and Billy and Libby Thetford all of Levelland. His siblings: Terry and Chuck Colburn of Houston, Texas, Mike Thetford of Granbury, Texas, Darren and Tammie Waters of Midland, Texas and Derek and Morgan Waters of Lubbock, Texas.

Rest in peace “Grumpie” we love you and miss you so much!

In lieu of flowers you may donate to Hallmark Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Edgecliff Village Fire Department or a church of your choice.
