Bobby Joe Weddle

    Bobby Joe Weddle, 86, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022.  
    The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022 following the visitation with Mike Wilcox of Klondike Baptist Church officiating.  Interment will be at the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene, Texas at 10:00 am, Friday, July 29, 2022.
    Bob was born November 11, 1935 in McCamey, Texas to C.A. and Mary Weddle.  He graduated from McCamey High School.  He joined the United States Navy on the buddy plan after High School.  All four buddies came from McCamey, and were in band together.  Bob was the drum major for McCamey High School.  Upon joining the U.S. Navy, all four were accepted in the U.S. Navy Band and Bob again served as the drum major.  
    Upon completion of six years in the Navy, Bob went into business with Robert Webb.  They operated Rob & Bob’s Hairdressing in Midland, Texas.  After fifty years of hairdressing, they retired and traveled.  Bob was a member of Klondike Baptist Church.
    Bob is survived by his best friend, Robert Webb, and two sisters, Peggy Stacy and Pat Stroud of Grand Saline, Texas.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Mary Weddle, his son Jeremy Shonne Weddle, a brother, Marvin Weddle and five sisters, Francis Elliott, Dollie Winfield, Lou Smith, Betty Lott and Bernice Houck.
