Bobbie Phillips

Bobbie Charles Phillips, 84, of Weatherford, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2018 at North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford with interment to follow at East Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford.

Bob was born on December 4, 1933 in Gorman, Texas to Jim and Grace Phillips. He married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Elda Carr, in 1951. While living in west Texas, he worked for Gulf and Texaco before moving to Weatherford in 1971, where he started a greenhouse business. He returned to the oil fields before starting his own business. Bob, along with his wife and children opened and operated Phillips Water Hauling, the first in Parker County, in 1986 where he continued to work to the present.

He was a member of North Side Baptist Church, he enjoyed spending time with the people he loved, collecting antique cars and cruising the world with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, DeWayne; daughter-in-law, Fonda Phillips; as well as his sister, Charlotte, and her husband, James Boles.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elda Phillips; his son, Rodney Phillips and wife, Dawne; his daughter Diane Lamb and husband, Greg; and his daughter-in-law, Carol Phillips. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Angie Stanley (Damon), Shaunna Bevers (Jay), Adrienne Taylor (Joel) Jason Phillips (Bevin), Carleigh Caillouette (Jonathon), Sabrina Vlk (Thomas), Cody Phillips (Kimberlee), Laura Beth Phillips, Amy Weist (Robert), and Eric Phillips; 23 great grandchildren; and an abundance of extended family and friends.
