Bob Newsom

    Funeral service for Bobbie Gene “Bob” Newsom, 89, of Lamesa, will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Faith Temple Church with Pastor Jerry Walton and Melba Napper officiating.
     Arrangements are under the direction and care of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
    Bob passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, in Lamesa. 
    He was born November 1,1932 in Lynn County, Tx to Alvis Harper and Ila (Webster) Newsom.  
    He worked for Atmos Energy for 30 years then started his own business, B & N Gas Consulting for the next 21 years. He was also Captain of the Volunteer Firefighters in Tulia for 11 years. Bob was known for his friendliness and never met a stranger. He was on the board of directors at Faith Temple Church and loved visiting with people, especially as the greeter at his church, always ready with his big hugs.
    Bob is survived by his wife JoAnn Newsom of Lamesa; children, Craig Cornett and wife Jan of Brownfield, Keith Charles Cason and wife Cindi of Fort Worth, Lila Denise Furtado of Midland, and Steven Glenn Newsom of Lamesa; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Bennie Glenn Newsom.
    The family suggest memorials to Faith Temple Foursquare Church, 110 N. 15th St., Lamesa, Texas 79331.
