Celebration of Life for Barbara Ann BrownEdwards “Shawty,” 76, of Lamesa, will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church with Pastor Jermaine Cleaveland officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.

Barbara Ann Brown was born May 3, 1947, in Lamesa Texas to Charlie “Yank” Brown and Floydie Lee (Collins) Brown. She attended Blackshear and graduated from Lamesa High School. She married Jessie Lee Edwards Sr. on August 4, 1966. She was last employed at the Water Conservation Department in Lamesa, Tx. She attended and was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church in Lamesa, Tx.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Floydie Lee Brown; her beloved husband, Jessie Lee Edwards Sr.; brothers Albert Brown, Willie “James” Brown, and Billy Williams; sisters, Elnora LeGrand, Lillie Brown, and Charlene Brown; granddaughter, Kendra Hunter and great grandson Tristavian Edwards.

She leaves to cherish her memory; sister, Evangelist Merry Stewart; brothers, Benny Williams and Tony Williams; children, Sharon Edwards-Jackson, Jessie Lee (Sonya) Edwards Jr., James (Tambrinia) Edwards, Oressa (Chris) Moreno, Courtney (Shannon) Edwards, and RaShantay (Thyrone) Harris; 22 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and a host of family and friends.
