Audra Anne Shipp

Audra Anne (Johnson) Shipp, 88, of Littlefield, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024.  She was born August 25, 1935 in Atwood, Oklahoma to Wylie and Alma Idella (Bourns) Johnson.
Audra married David Rodgers in 1952, and in 1958 he tragically passed away leaving Audra with
four children under the age of six.  She then married Miller Gates Shipp, May 29, 1959.
Audra was a faithful longtime member of Parkview Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School
there for many years. She and Miller were active in the Church until their health failed.
Audra’s favorite jobs were working at Porterfield Photography in Lamesa where she “colorized”
black and white photographs. The other was working at the Littlefield Cafeterias, both Jr. High and High School. While running the High School Cafeteria she won a Texas School Recipe
contest using commodities given to the schools. The winning recipe was called the Wildcat Wrap and was prepared by Georgetown students and served in the Governor’s mansion as an
entree. This meal was attended by Gov. George and wife Laura Bush. It was one of her proudest accomplishments and meeting the Bush’s was an honor for both Audra and Miller.
She was creative minded and artistic. She loved to paint and encouraged her children to be creative and improve their skills. She encouraged the grands as well to try to draw and be
creative. She loved to share her talent.
Audra loved her family and being a “Nana” to her grandchildren and extended grandchildren.
Audra is survived by two daughters, Dianna Rodgers of Pueblo, CO and Suzie Noland and husband Kirby of East Tawakoni, TX and one son John Shipp and wife Kathy of Littlefield; eight
grandchildren, Shonna Lawson (David) of Alamogordo, NM, Tommy Coulter (Trish) of Lubbock, Ninnah Pearson (Josh) of Pueblo, CO., Andy Spiry (Megan) of Renton, WA, Rusty Noland of East
Tawakoni, Amber Travers (Tracy) of Quinlan, TX, Jason Shipp (Rachel) of Roscoe, TX and Jaren ‘Bear’ Shipp (Kristin) of Lubbock; twenty-four great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.  She was preceded
in death by her husband, Miller Shipp on August 1, 2012; a son, Gary Alan Rodgers; a daughter, Donna Jean Coulter; four grandchildren, Heather Wood, Justin Shipp, Shane Gates and Sonya
Spiry; her parents; and ten siblings.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday May 24, 2024 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield with Mickey Oglesby officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Cemetery.  Arrangements are
under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Harmonee House of Amherst Tx, and Hospice of
the South Plains of Lubbock for their excellent care.
