Andres Grimaldo

    A Catholic funeral mass service will be celebrated for Andres L. Grimaldo, age 68, of Amarillo, TX., at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church located at 908 S. 2nd Street Lamesa, TX., with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery.
    Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
    Andress passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Amarillo, TX. 
    He was born on July 21, 1952 in Gilroy, California. Andres lived in Lamesa, TX. until about 1968 when he relocated to Amarillo, TX. He never married. 
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Matias Grimaldo and Clara L. Grimaldo; his brothers, Jesse Grimaldo, Ruben Grimaldo, Juan Grimaldo, Matthew Grimaldo, and George Grimaldo.
    Andres was a faithful and dedicated member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Amarillo, TX. He retired from the Burger King Corporation after more than thirty years of service. 
    He was an avid movie watcher and reader. He enjoyed being with his family members and celebrating holiday and events. He spent his retirement years relaxing and enjoying his free time. He enjoyed traveling especially to the Olympics.
    His caring heart, gentle soul, kind nature, and faith were to be admired. Andres was known as a man of a few words, but all who knew him would agree that his words were powerful.
    Andres is survived by his sister, Mary G. Lopez of Amarillo, TX.; his brothers, Joe Grimaldo of Fort Worth, TX, and Pablo Grimaldo of Amarillo, TX.; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; two special friends, Jose Zarate and Lydia Zarate of Amarillo, TX.; several relatives and friends.
