Amelia Baltazar

    A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Amelia G. Baltazar age 89 of Lamesa, TX., at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. 
    Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 starting at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home, with a Rosary prayer services staring at 7:00 p.m.
    Amelia passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Lamesa. 
    She was born on June 30, 1932 in Batesfield, TX. Amelia married Cruz Baltazar, Sr. on August 28, 1948 in Snyder, TX.
    Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Cruz Baltazar, Sr.; her sons, Theodore Baltazar, Jessie Baltazar, Sr., Joe Baltazar, and Luis Baltazar, Sr.
    She loved to crochet, play Bingo, watch her favorite TV shows, sing at her beloved church, and most of all, Amelia loved to spend a lot of time with her family.
    Amelia is survived by her sons, Cruz Baltazar, Jr. and Henry Baltazar, both of Lamesa, TX, and Lupe and Eva Baltazar of San Antonio, TX.; her daughters, Mary and Joe Ybarra, Adelita and Liboryo Iglesias, Janie Baltazar, Mickey and Clyde Bara, Sr., Liria and Charlie Martinez, Sr., and Sylvia and Jesus Munoz, all of Lamesa, TX.; 60 grandchildren, 157 great-grandchildren, and 100 great-great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends. 
    Honoring Amelia as her pallbearers are, Liboryo Iglesias, Jr., Clyde Bara, Jr., Leroy Vasquez, Charlie Martinez, Jessie Ybarra, Michael Renteria, Raul Baltazar, Zack Cortez, Lupito Baltazar, Jr.
