    Funeral services for Adan Martinez, age 73, of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Juan Vasquez officiating. 
    Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
    The viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
    Adan passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 14, 2023, in O’Donnell, TX. 
    He was born April 18, 1950, in San Antonio, TX. Adan married Antonia Alvear on November 12, 1997, in Dawson County, Texas.
    Adan was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Florencia C. Martinez; and his daughter, Angelina Martinez.
    Adan loved going camping, fishing, and traveling. He enjoyed celebrating holidays and birthdays and enjoyed BBQs with family. But best of all, he enjoyed taking his wife to the church Jamaica events and playing the Cakewalk games, where he gave away the cakes he won to family and friends. Adan enjoyed attending the annual South Plains Fair. Adan was a very proud U.S. ARMY veteran.
    Adan is survived by his wife, Antonia A. Martinez of O’Donnell, TX.; his daughter, Belinda Martinez of Toledo, Ohio, and his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Guillen of Houston, TX.; his brothers, Bernave (Amada) Martinez, Sr., of Lamesa, TX., Roberto (Martha) Martinez of Odessa, TX., and Guadalupe Martinez of Odessa, TX.; his sisters, Yolanda (Martin) Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX., and Norma (Herman) Martinez of Snyder, TX.; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, and friends.
