Venita Faye Loftin

    Graveside service for Venita Faye Loftin, 83, of Lamesa, will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Dawson County Cemetery with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Alan Korinek officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. 
    Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home. 
    Venita passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, in Lamesa with her two sons by her side.
    She was born March 12, 1939, in Lamesa, TX to  E.L. and  C.J. (Morris) Allen.  Venita served as the bookkeeper for the Lamesa Press-Reporter and South Plains Printing for well over 30 years during two stints before retiring in 2012. She held an ownership interest in the newspaper and served on the board of directors for about 20 years. She also attended Grace Lutheran Church, Klondike Baptist Church and Crestview Baptist Church throughout her lifetime. Venita loved her family and will be greatly missed.
    Venita is survived by her sons, Brent Wade and wife Liz of Georgetown, and Steve Wade of Lamesa; grandchildren, Lindsay Wade Gibson, Bonnie Wade, Chase Carpenter and Blake Carpenter; and great- grandchildren, Kaleb Baker, Katy Gibson, Grant Gibson, and Allyson Gibson.
    Venita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Wade; husband, Pearl Loftin; her brother Douglas Allen; and her youngest son, Zane Wade.
