Sherlyn 'Sherry' Telchik

Funeral service for Sherlyn “Sherry” Jean Telchik, 76, of Lamesa will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Lamesa Church of Christ with Minister Mark Hackett officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.
Sherry passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by her family.
She was born May 7, 1945, to A.J. and Myrtle (Daniels) Barnes, Jr. Sherry graduated From O’Donnell High School in 1963 and then attended South Plains College in Levelland. She then married James Telchik August 14, 1964. They were married 57 years.
She worked at the Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Service in Gail and Lamesa from 1984-2000. She was a member of the Lamesa Church of Christ since 1989. Sherry enjoyed spending time with her great granddaughter Lucy Mae Telchik and her grandsons.
Sherry is survived by her husband, James Telchik; son, Kevin Telchik and wife, Lisa of Lamesa; daughter, Rene’ Dougherty and husband, Brad; 3 grandsons, Zachary Telchik and wife, Darla, Collin Telchik and Wesley Dougherty; sister, Lesa Rollins and husband, Kelly; brother, Billy (Bussy) Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, A.J. & Myrtle Barnes, Jr.
