Lamesa High School culinary teacher Kevin Pedroza’s culinary students are competing in a barbecue contest here this weekend but recently came back from another contest with awards for their serving skills.The young chefs were in the Civic Center in Lubbock on Feb. 11 to compete against other schools.The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America students placed twice in two levels of the “Serving Up Success” contests.Student Yenisei Guevara took third place in the competition’s second level.
