Having been declared re-elected without opposition, Douglas Morris took the oath of offi ce on Tuesday evening for another three-year term representing District 6 on the Lamesa City Council.

Madisyn, daughter of Steve and Calli Ruiz, will be attending Texas Tech University in the fall to study Wildlife Biology. Jorge, son of the late Ignacio Gonzalez and Griselda Carrisalez and grandson of Maria Consuelo Gonzalez, plans to attend Texas Tech University to study Accounting.
Dawson County will be purchasing two new road graders at a combined cost, with trade-in of two used graders, of just over $353,000.
Officials with the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday they will be sponsoring a parade later this month to recognize the seniors graduating from high school in Lamesa and the surrounding area.
