Seminole shares Ukranians’ heartbreak, fear with invasion

SEMINOLE – When Gaines County resident Julie Carter told Katya Lukash of Berdyansk Akosa, Ukraine, that the Sentinel wanted to do a story of what’s happening in her country, Katya was quick to respond. “Tell them the Citizens of Ukraine are peaceful people. Putin told his people (the Russians) their mission was to save/ rescue Ukrainian people from their president. That is fake.”

Lamesa Service Club member Ryan Owens (left) is joined by Lamesa High School culinary students Justin Peterson, Lily Galindo and Ariseli Hernandez in staffi ng the grills during a portion of the big pancake supper hosted by the service club this past Saturday at the Lamesa high school cafeteria. About 600 all-you-can-eat meals of pancakes, sausage and bacon were served during a three-hour period. Proceeds from the event are used by the service club to support various local endeavors, with a focus on helping the youth of Lamesa. LPR photo
