AUSTIN – The Texas Transportation Commission approved approximately $20 million in federal transit funding at its December meeting. The funding will help rural transit agencies replace 271 buses. The funds were awarded to 35 public transportation providers in rural areas across the state, including West Texas Opportunities, Inc. that serves Dawson County and 17 other counties in West Texas. In the 12-county Odessa District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), West Texas Opportunities, Inc. received $2,091,500 through the program.
