Having raised a little over half of their 60,000 goal at this point, Dawson County United Fund organizers plan to close off their fund-raising campaign Jan. 14.Anyone still interested in contributing may do so but should submit their donations soon.The donation drive has collected $35,651 so far, said Alyssa Alcala, United Fund coordinator.Money raised through United Fund drive benefits two organizations: the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club and the Dawson County Senior Citizens Center.“We really appreciate anyone who has donated this year or in years prior,” Alcala said.Organizers sent out letters to past donors.
